Octanole

Octanole,

 

Octyl|alkohole, Alkohole mit der Summenformel C₈H₁₇OH. Als Riechstoffe werden v. a. 3-Octanol (pilzig-erdige Noten) und der Essigsäureester von 1-Octanol (blumige Noten) verwendet. Synthetisch erzeugte Isomerengemische (»Isooctanol«) und Äthylhexanol haben technische Bedeutung für die Herstellung von Weichmachern.
